NEW ENGLAND ARCHIVISTS
RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS |
||
| The
New England Archivists of Religious Institutions, founded in 1989, provides archivists responsible for religious collections
a means to share common concerns and obtain professional education.
As archivists who represent various religious institutions, the members of NEARI recognize the sacred nature of their respective traditions and the responsibility to document the contemporary life of the believing community. Records, whether
written, visual, oral or technological, express the richness of America's
diverse religious heritage and offer future scholars an understanding
of the dynamic between religions and culture |

| MEMBERSHIP
BENEFITS
NEARI is open to any person, institution, or agency interested in preserving religious documents. Most documents are available to historians, researchers, and genealogists. Each member of NEARI receives an annual Directory of the association's membership, so that in time of specific need, another member in the geographical area can be contacted easily for assistance, be it information on archival methodology or the loan of research materials. NEARI encourages
membership involvement through working committees, writing for the Newsletter,
and participation in its programs. |

| DUES
Dues are $10.00 per year, payable to NEARI. Membership runs from January through December. Click here for

| NEWSLETTER
The NEARI Newsletter is a formal publication of the Association. The Newsletter encourages submission of professional articles by the membership, circulates reports of the meetings, and announces coming events. The Newsletter is an effective way to be informed of archival activities in New England. |

| MEETINGS
To provide NEARI members with opportunities for continuing education, the association sponsors a Spring Meeting annually. The meeting offers an opportunity for members to increase the archival knowledge and skill of both the beginner and the veteran. The selection of various sites for these meetings affords the opportunities for members to visit numerous archives in the New England area.
