Sisters' and Associates' Photo Gallery

Sunday, June 11, Donor Appreciation Day, was a special day for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and Associates to say thank you to our donors for being with us all the way, for sharing generously in whatever we endeavor to undertake for the “dear neighbor”, and in caring for our sisters who are now in need of care themselves.

   

On June 4, 2017, The Literacy Connection’s annual celebration of Gratitude and Achievement was held at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston’s Motherhouse Chapel.

Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, CSJ Associates, and lay tutors spent two-weeks assisting students at the 2016 Casserly House Summer Learning Camp. The program includes computer instruction, thematic projects, field trips, and one-on-one tutorial reading for 16 children from the neighborhood. The program helps to supplement each camper's school experience, and supports each one as they reach their current academic grade level. The program is geared towards making learning a fun experience.

Volunteers in Mission (VIM) is a week of service, prayer, and community that is was held the week of June 18-25, 2016. A group of Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and Associates participated in this yearly event

The Literacy Connection celebrated 29 years of helping the "dear neighbor" in the Allston/Brighton neighborhood and beyond. On June 6, 2016, students, Sisters of St. Joseph, associates, tutors, friends, and family gathered for a celebration of gratitude and accomplishment.

On June 5, 2016, Sisters of St. Joseph and Associates gathered at St. Joseph Hall for the annual CSJ picnic. A great time was had by all.

On Saturday, March 26, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston hosted the Brighton Main Streets Annual Gerry McCarthy Easter Egg Hunt. Hundreds of Boston residents and children came out in force to celebrate and hunt for as many eggs as they could.

On March 19, 2016, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and Associates celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph.

Boston CSJ Founders Day/Jubilee Celebration. On October 2, 2014, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston celebrated the Anniversary of our founding in Boston. 141 years ago, our sisters began their ministry to the dear neighbor in Jamaica Plain. In addition, our Golden Jubilarians, Sisters Pat Andrews, Carol Fitzsimmons, and Mary Murphy were honored.

Volunteers in Mission is a program for women who desire an experience of ministry, community living, and prayer for one week during the summer. This year, sisters and associates lived in community with the sisters at Fontbonne Convent, visited Castle Island, and volunteered at Casserly House, St. Francis House, and the Women’s Lunch Place. It was a week of building relationships and sharing prayer; a wonderful time had by all.
