Confident in the ‘God of Today and the God of Tomorrow’

Closing Celebration of Our 150th Anniversary

Communications Office

What a perfect way to conclude the celebration of our 150 years of service and presence in Boston and beyond! On October 1, 2023, St. Agatha’s Church in Milton was alive with the Spirit as sisters, associates, agrégées, partners in mission, family, and friends gathered in prayer, song, and celebration.

In her welcome remarks, Mary L. Murphy, CSJ, president of the Congregation, introduced our former presidents, current leadership team, and priests who gathered to celebrate with us. She also acknowledged, “the over 2000 women who responded to God’s call during these 150 years and joined and participated in our mission of unity and reconciliation, of unifying love, being Christ’s healing presence in an ever-changing world — meeting the needs of the dear neighbor without distinction, by responding to the needs of the time.”

Near the end of her reflections Sister Mary promised, “True to our heritage, we will continue to respond to the ever-challenging and changing needs of the times… through our ministries and in the expression of our mission. We look forward to moving into the future together with all of you, confident in the ‘God of today and the God of tomorrow.’”
