Sister Pat Andrews gave us the opportunity to attend the coffee hour with Boston’s Mayor Wu. At this event, Brighton residents were able to share how city government can better serve our communities.

We got the chance to meet State Representative Kevin Honan, City Councilor Liz Breadon, and state senator William Brownsberger. By attending this event, we also learned the importance of being involved in the decision-making process of a community, as well as how to work for the common good. During the month of May, we worked with Sister Patthe director of The Literacy Connection.

This ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph has the mission of assisting immigrants who want to become citizens of the United States. We are very grateful for all the things Sr. Pat has done, along with teaching us both the importance of helping out around the community.
