The Leadership Collaborative:

Threading Sacred Spaces…

Barbara McHugh, CSJ

At the end of July, Betsy Conway, CSJ, Jeanmarie Gribaudo, CSJ, and Barbara McHugh, CSJ, had the pleasure of attending the CSSJ Into the Future Collaborative gathering at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, Illinois. The theme for our time together was “Threading Sacred Spaces: Attuned and Attentive to the Spirit Among Us.” Joining them were 25 additional participants from the United States and Canada.

These gatherings continue to be a wonderful, collaborative lifeline as we look to the future of our collective religious lives. We were privileged to spend our time together at The National Shrine and Museum of St. Therese. Saint Therese was certainly present during our prayer and sharing!

Sister Kristin Matthes, SNDdeN, served as the Facilitator for the gathering. Kristin’s keen and gentle manner guided us to reflect on weaving our lives together into the future. We had the opportunity to hear talks and reports on some the following topics and initiatives from the Federation:

  1. Tending the Flame
  2. Creative Imaginings
  3. State of the Heart
  4. Telephone Calls (making telephone calls to other Sisters in the Collaborative to get to know one another)
  5. Online Community (Zoom calls)
  6. Formation/Vocation work
  7. Leadership Collaborative
  8. Intentional Communities

We continue to be grateful to our Boston congregation for allowing us the chance to grow and listen to the stirrings of the Spirit. We appreciate the ongoing support of our sisters in the community as we navigate these uncharted waters into the future. Unifying love truly flared in Darien, Illinois!
