Census Awareness Weekend
2020 Census – Please BE COUNTED!

We know that COVID-19 has upended everything – including the 2020 Census. So this weekend, May 1-3, 2020, is designated Census Awareness Weekend.  During these past few weeks, The Literacy Connection, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, has been working with the Allston-Brighton 2020 Census committee to continue efforts for a “complete count” of the 2020 Census.

This “complete count” is critical! Getting it right is essential! Data collected from the 2020 Census will determine the allocation of federal funds for the next 10 years to programs and critical services including public education, social services, roads, and healthcare. It will also impact our state’s political representation at the local, state and federal level

As of April 28, 2020, 56.8% of Massachusetts households had responded. WE CAN DO BETTER! Now, more than ever, we need to urge and encourage families, neighbors, friends, even cashiers at the grocery store to complete the 2020 Census, claim our rightful representation and fulfill our responsibility to our communities and future generations! Please, BE COUNTED! Please SHARE this message so that others are counted too!

People who have not responded can still do so by Internet, phone and by mail. Help us spread the message.  the 2020 Census is still taking place and it is important for everyone who has not done so to respond on Census Awareness Weekend: May 1-3, 2020.

There’s still time to shape the future for our community. Share this message and encourage others to complete the #2020Census now online, by phone, or by mail.
