Chapter 2017-2018

The members of the Steering Committee asked S. Ann Grady to design the Chapter logo. The following is her thought process while creating the Chapter 2017-2018 Logo:

Thoughts while creating LOGO – Impelled by God’s Inclusive LOVE

This is very difficult to visualize.

We probably don’t even know what we mean by these words.

We are moving to a space we have not been before.

Wanted a design that would say:

Movement
Openness
Receptive
Inclusive
Open ended
Personal involvement

Type of image:

Looked at my photographs
Decided an abstract design was needed

Color:

Wanted to include the orange tones from the website
Liked the orange/purple gradient

Shape:

Was mindful of the open hand (rather than the closed fist)
The smallest of the three shapes suggests individuality, room for growth, change

Text placement:

Wanted it to convey movement
