Corporation for the Sponsored Ministries

Since their arrival in Boston in 1873, in addition to diocesan ministries, the Sisters of Saint Joseph have sponsored their own ministries.

All CSJ sponsored ministries have the common motivation to expound the founding principle of their seventeenth century roots: to love and serve God and the “dear neighbor.” Many of these sponsored ministries continue as originally founded though modified to meet changing needs; some have ceased as the original purpose became obsolete; others have been initiated to address current social, spiritual, and educational challenges. These sponsored ministries, animated by our charism of unity and reconciliation, strive to bring the message of God’s active and inclusive love to persons of all races and religious beliefs, especially those who find themselves at the breaking points of society. The CSJ philosophy is to provide society with a spirit and incentive that furthers unity, healing, peace, and justice in nonviolent environments, thereby revealing God’s presence in our midst.

The sponsorship of ministries by the Congregation continues to be an important means of furthering the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
