Goodbye to Ava!

Your selection to be part of the new Boston College Religious Archive Project is a tribute to your creativity, competence, dedication, and passion for Archival work.

With these words, Marian Batho, CSJ, congratulated Ava Doogue for her past four years of work in the CSJ Archives. She went on to share a list of Ava’s achievements — the archive of the month, participating in archive crawls, collaborating with Simmons students to create and document additional oral histories, and more. Sister Marian also shared a snapshot of the wonderful atmosphere Ava nurtured, saying to friends and colleagues gathered, “Did you know there was a comedy club on the first floor?” Indeed, many have enjoyed and will miss Ava’s humor. Her laughter, the laughter she brought to others will be missed.

Ava’s time in the archives has been filled with wonderful discoveries, rich history, and countless laughs shared with both the sisters of the past and those with us today. She is deeply grateful for the invaluable experience she has gained here and is excited to bring her skills to BC.

Ava will hold the memories, lessons, and sheer joy of working in the archives close to her heart. She dearly hopes her new colleagues at Boston College will be just as funny, kind, and supportive as Sister Cay and Sister Elizabeth! While leaving is bittersweet, Ava is excited for this next step in her career and will remember everyone at the Motherhouse with fondness.

We wish Ava the very best of luck on this wonderful next step!
