From the Office of Justice & Peace:
Wear Orange 2026

Protesting gun violence on June 5, 2026.

On Friday, June 5, we had a great crowd of folks wearing all shades of orange at our annual vigil to commemorate the victims of gun violence over the past year and to pray for policies and laws which prevent gun violence by making guns less accessible to those who use them to hurt and kill.

After a prayer service focusing on the faces of the victims, some processed out to the sidewalk holding posters with pictures of these faces. Drivers honking their horns as they drove by let us know that many share our sentiments about this issue. The sisters at St. Joseph Hall, also sporting orange shirts, held a prayer service there.

Staff and residents at Bethany wore orange, put orange ribbons on residents’ doors, and provided orange pins for those who wanted to wear them. Thanks to all for such a meaningful witness!
