What Agrégées are About

Different from sisters and associates, agrégées are single Catholic women who are called to commit themselves to Christ by embracing the mission of unifying love of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and connecting themselves to the Congregation through prayer and personal relationships. Candidates usually participate in a three-year formation process before acceptance as agrégées. The agrégées make a lifetime commitment through a vow of fidelity to live in the spirit of the evangelical counsels: poverty, chastity and obedience. Agrégées may remain in their own homes and continue with their independent lives. They are responsible for their own financial affairs, including healthcare and retirement.
