Remembering 9/11
25 Years Later
Communications

Barbara Loud, CSJ, lights candles that commemorate the lives that were taken on September 11, 2001 and the first responders, as well as a candle of peace.
,In the words of Sister Marilyn McGoldrick, we, as Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, “continue to be people who choose hope.” During a solemn service, Sisters, Associates, Agrégées, and Partners in Mission gathered to pray and reflect on the tragedy that happened twenty-five years ago. Barbara Loud, CSJ, lit candles to represent the lives lost on 9/11.
Near the end of the service, all were invited to stand as our Motherhouse Chapel Bell was rung twenty-five times.
The reading shared, Micah 6:8, gave attendees words to carry forward with them as they, along with the rest of the nation, took time to mourn and remember:
“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Sisters, Associates, Agrégées, and Partners in Mission stand in silence as our Motherhouse Chapel Bell is rung 25 times in remembrance of the lives lost on 9/11.
