Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy Retreat
Gail Donahue, CSJ

Sisters, teachers, and Partners in Mission at the CSJ Motherhouse Chapel.

On Thursday, September 3, twenty eight teachers and administrators from St John Paul II Catholic Academy in Dorchester spent a day of Retreat at the Motherhouse.

The Theme of the Retreat was “Journey.” Participants engaged in a symbolic walk pondering the passage about the Road to Emmaus from St. Luke’s Gospel. The retreatants spent time in communal prayer, personal reflection, and small-group discussions on topics related to their ministry as Catholic educators as they prepared to begin their new school year.

Most of the teachers and administrators had never visited the Motherhouse. They were in awe and discovered it as a sacred space where they recognized the presence of God, who was journeying with them, listening to their story, their hopes, dreams, struggles, and joys.

What a blessed day to begin the new school year!
