Bethany Health Care Center received a special honor this past week. The Massachusetts Council of Activity Professionals presented to Sister Bernadette Kenney, CSJ, the VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Bernadette Kenney, CSJ, has been volunteering at the memory loss unit at Bethany for eleven years. Catherine Sabatini, the Director of Activities on the second floor, nominated Bernadette stating that “her reminiscing groups, with pictures and enhancing materials, spark conversation among the residents, even with their limited abilities.” Jacquelyn McCarthy, CSJ, CEO/Administrator of Bethany stated “This award is well deserved. The programs you plan elicit a wonderful response that brings joy and smiles to each resident.” Accepting the award, Bernadette said, “My time each week with the residents on the Memory Loss Unit fills my heart with overwhelming joy”
