Renewing Hope. Seeking Justice

This week is National Migration Week. The Catholic bishops and the Catholic Church support humane immigration reform. Catholics are called to stand with immigrants and refugees as our brothers and sisters. This is who the Catholic Church is. As Catholics, this is what we do.

Pope Francis invites us to be part of a culture of encounter as we welcome, protect, integrate, and promote immigrants and refugees in our midst. With the assistance of our Boston CSJ Immigration Committee and our Office of Justice and Peace, we continue to participate in many calls to action on behalf of immigrants. In the days ahead we will receive more information about ways we can deepen and expand this commitment.

One resource that the Catholic bishops have offered is to share the story of our migrant sisters and brothers via social media. This week we will post some of the resources the bishops offer. So this is an opportune time to encourage this form of telling the story. If you participate in any of these social media channels, you are encouraged to click into our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, share our posts that originate from the Catholic bishops, and encourage friends, relatives, students, colleagues, and others to do the same.
